The plan

I’ve been consulting with the professionals whom I most admire to come up with a list of readings that form the foundation for working in therapy from an evidence-based perspective. The list so far has a blatant leaning towards CBT as it has a solid base of research and congruent theory behind it,  which inspires me. My plan is to work through these books in this blog. Here it is so far:

Barlow, D. H. (2014). Clinical Handbook of Psychological Disorders.
Beck, J., & Beck, J. (2011). Cognitive Behavior Therapy: Basics and Beyond
Beck, A., (2014). Cognitive Therapy of Personality Disorders
Bennett-Levy, J. (2004). Oxford Guide to Behavioural Experiments in Cognitive Therapy.
Caldwell, B. (2015). Basics of California Law for LMFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs – Third edition (2015)
Linehan, M. (1993). Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.
Persons, J. (2012). The Case Formulation Approach to Cognitive-Behavior Therapy
Segal et al (2002) Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression
Wright et al (2006) Learning Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Young, J.E. 1999). Cognitive Therapy for Personality Disorders: A Schema-Focused Approach

Thanks to Dr. Emily Sachs, Dr. Jackie Persons,  Dr. Allison Harvey,  Dr. Mark Balabanis for helping me develop this list.
